personality

Courageous, Confident && Strong Minded. . .
growing up in a household of ten, ophelia learned from a very young age the importance of asking for what you want and speaking up for herself. from the endless fights between the beckett siblings and the constant bickering for who would get what, ophelia acquired some of her most characteristic traits that have helped her in many other situations beyond the teasing of her relatives. It’s thanks to this bold personality of hers, that she’s been allowed to outstanding in a crowd many times and shape her up into a strong independent woman.

Stubborn, Ruthless && Imposing. . .
obviously it couldn’t be all sunshine and flowers for ophelia, as all good things her strong opinions and lack of fear to express them cause her to sometimes be quiet a handful. ophelia is extremely passionate about her freedom and isn’t afraid to attack others to defend what she thinks. She can sometimes come off as rude or mean due to her very very honest mind and even be a bit intimidating to those with a more dim personality. This was specially notorious in her first years attending hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, as she coped with all the unknown new things by excelling her ‘smarts’ over other students as an attempt to remain relevant.

Charming, Charismatic && Loyal. . .
another good trait ophelia got from growing up surrounded by sisters and brothers was her ability to socialize. unlike general belief, ophelia is very welcoming and warm with everyone she meets, easily trusting them and making real pure friendships. she’s the kind of girl that won’t be afraid to come up to you and talk, and once you’ve let her in, she appreciates that and values your friendship for the rest of time.

Selfless, Caring && Giving. . .
it was safe to say that most of ophelia’s attributes, she had gained before ever entering hogwarts and throughout her childhood in the muggleworld, however the most important lesson hogwarts had ever gave her (and yes, ophelia consider this the greatest lesson of all, even better than her alchemy classes.) was the importance of friends. throughout her years at the castle, ophelia learned to give and care for others, putting her friends happiness and safety above and beyond. she learn that to have people to lean on in hard times and celebrate with victories are a gift unlike no other and how to properly protect this relationship. ophelia would do anything for those she loves, even if she has to put herself in the line.

Hardworking, Creative && Driven. . .
typical traits of a ravenclaw, ophelia is a girl of brains and logic. she stays rational and sticks to her knowledge for almost every decision she ever takes. she always tries to find solutions to problem through a well thought process and once she’s set her mind to something, there’s few forces in the world that can stop her. she’s always been encouraged to set high goals and go for them at whatever cost it takes.

Witty, Strategic && Good. . .
ophelia doesn’t stick to the usual methods and rules, and is constantly questioning the way things are done. she values good over tradition, which has caused her to get into trouble multiple times before though she stands by the fact that every time was “worth it.” she uses her smarts to help others, and this has come very in handy in many situations like the second wizardry war, where ophelia provide her natural talents for strategy planning to help prepare hogwarts for the death eaters attack.

charisma, confidence, determination and authority are all traits that commanders have. they are natural born leaders that project authority to guide others into one main goal, however another main characteristic of commanders is their often ruthless level of rationality, using their drive and sharp minds to achieve whatever end they’ve set for themselves. they aren’t scared of sharing what’s on their mind if it’ll help the greater good, even when those involved may get harmed. commanders love a good challenge, their ability to think strategically and hold a long-term focus while executing each step of their plans with determination and precision makes them powerful leaders. if there’s anyone commanders respect, it’s someone who is able to stand up to them intellectually, and while witty comebacks and thought through arguments are a strength in them, feelings on the other hand are something they rarely display or even like to deal with.

enneagram

the challenger is decisive, willful, confrontational, self-confident, assertive, protective, resourceful, straight-talking, but can also be ego-centric and domineering. eights feel they must control their environment, especially people, sometimes becoming confrontational and intimidating. they usually have problems with their tempers and with allowing themselves to be vulnerable. they fear being harmed or control by others while they desire to be the ones who choose their own path and destiny && to feel protected.

alignment

neutral good characters does the best that a good person can do. they are devoted to helping others, and enjoy working with superiors but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good characters do what is good without bias for or against order. However, they can be a dangerous alignment when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

"Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind."

ravenclaw

"I'm Prefect Robert Hilliard, and I'm delighted to welcome you to Ravenclaw House. Our emblem is the eagle, which soars where others cannot climb; our house colors are blue and bronze, and our common room is found at the top of Ravenclaw Tower, behind a door with an enchanted knocker. The arched windows set into the walls of our circular common room look down at the school grounds: the lake, the Forbidden Forest, the Quidditch pitch and the Herbology gardens. No other house in the school has such stunning views.”

"Without wishing to boast, this is the house where the cleverest witches and wizards live. Our founder, Rowena Ravenclaw, prized learning above all else – and so do we. Unlike the other houses, who all have concealed entrances to their common rooms, we don't need one. The door to our common room lies at the top of a tall, winding staircase. It has no handle, but an enchanted bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. When you rap on the door, this knocker will ask you a question, and if you can answer it correctly, you are allowed in. This simple barrier has kept out everyone but Ravenclaws for nearly a thousand years.

"Some first-years are scared by having to answer the eagle's questions, but don't worry. Ravenclaws learn quickly, and you'll soon enjoy the challenges the door sets. It's not unusual to find twenty people standing outside the common room door, all trying to work out the answer to the day's question together. This is a great way to meet fellow Ravenclaws from other years, and to learn from them – although it is a bit annoying if you've forgotten your Quidditch robes and need to get in and out in a hurry. In fact, I'd advise you to triple-check your bag for everything you need before leaving Ravenclaw Tower.

"Another cool thing about Ravenclaw is that our people are the most individual – some might even call them eccentrics. But geniuses are often out of step with ordinary folk, and unlike some other houses we could mention, we think you've got the right to wear what you like, believe what you want, and say what you feel. We aren’t put off by people who march to a different tune; on the contrary, we value them!

"Speaking of eccentrics, you'll like our Head of house, Professor Filius Flitwick. People often underestimate him, because he's really tiny (we think he's part elf, but we’ve never been rude enough to ask) and he's got a squeaky voice, but he's the best and most knowledgeable Charms master alive in the world today. His office door is always open to any Ravenclaw with a problem, and if you're in a real state he'll get out these delicious little cupcakes he keeps in a tin in his desk drawer and make them do a little dance for you. In fact, it's worth pretending you're in a real state just to see them jive.

"Ravenclaw house has an illustrious history. Most of the greatest wizarding inventors and innovators were in our house, including Perpetua Fancourt, the inventor of the lunascope, Laverne de Montmorency, a great pioneer of love potions, and Ignatia Wildsmith, the inventor of Floo powder. Famous Ravenclaw Ministers for Magic include Millicent Bagnold, who was in power on the night that Harry Potter survived the Dark Lord's curse, and defended the wizarding celebrations all over Britain with the words, ‘I assert our inalienable right to party.' There was also Minister Lorcan McLaird, who was a quite brilliant wizard, but preferred to communicate by puffing smoke out of the end of his wand. Well, I did say we produce eccentrics. In fact, we are also the house that gave the wizarding world Uric the Oddball, who used a jellyfish for a hat. He's the punch line of a lot of wizarding jokes.

"As for our relationship with the other three houses: well, you’ve probably heard about the Slytherins. They’re not all bad, but you’d do well to be on your guard until you know them well. They’ve got a long house tradition of doing whatever it takes to win – so watch out, especially in Quidditch matches and exams.

"The Gryffindors are OK. If I had a criticism, I’d say Gryffindors tend to be show-offs. They’re also much less tolerant than we are of people who are different; in fact, they’ve been known to make jokes about Ravenclaws who have developed an interest in levitation, or the possible magical uses of troll bogies, or ovomancy, which (as you probably know) is a method of divination using eggs. Gryffindors haven’t got our intellectual curiosity, whereas we’ve got no problem if you want to spend your days and nights cracking eggs in a corner of the common room and writing down your predictions according to the way the yolks fall. In fact, you’ll probably find a few people to help you.

"As for the Hufflepuffs, well, nobody could say they’re not nice people. In fact, they’re some of the nicest people in the school. Let’s just say you needn’t worry too much about them when it comes to competition at exam time.

"I think that’s nearly everything. Oh yes, our house ghost is the Grey Lady. The rest of the school thinks she never speaks, but she’ll talk to Ravenclaws. She’s particularly useful if you’re lost, or you’ve mislaid something.

"I’m sure you’ll have a good night. Our dormitories are in turrets off the main tower; our four-poster beds are covered in sky blue silk eiderdowns and the sound of the wind whistling around the windows is very relaxing.

"And once again: well done on becoming a member of the cleverest, quirkiest and most interesting house at Hogwarts."

Ravenclaws possess the traits of cleverness, wisdom, wit, intellectual ability and creativity. According to Slytherin prefect Gemma Farley, Ravenclaws are so competitive when it comes to academic success that they are known to back stab each other, and likely other students, in order to get top marks. Many well-known inventors and innovators have come from Ravenclaw.

Students in Ravenclaw are noted for their individuality and acceptance of people and things that others would consider weird, as well as their outstanding intelligence. They can also be quirky and possess unusual intellectual interests. While others may be inclined to shun and ridicule such people, Ravenclaws generally accept and celebrate these eccentrics

cedar wood with a unicorn hair core, 10 ¾" and reasonably supple flexibility

cedar wood wands, carry strength of character and unusual loyalty. Gervaise Ollivander, used always to say, ‘you will never fool the cedar carrier,’ . the cedar wand finds its perfect home where there is perspicacity and perception. OWNERS Of cedar wands are rarely recommended to cross, especially if harm is done to those of whom they are fond. The witch or wizard who is well-matched with cedar carries the potential to be a frightening adversary, which often comes as a shock to those who have thoughtlessly challenged them.

unicorn hair core, according to Ollivander’s notes, ‘generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. They are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. The most faithful of all wands, they usually remain attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch of wizard. Minor disadvantages of a unicorn hair core are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may “die” and need replacing.´

patronus

Ophelia first managed to perform the patronus spell, while training with her friends in the requirement room in her 4th year. The girl had tried the spell several times, when finally a glowing python revealed itself.

Although pythons are one of the largest species of snakes, they’re also one of the timidest. It is for this reason that they are so commonly sold as pets. That said, a mighty python Patronus wouldn’t be likely to back down from a Dementor. It would strike before constricting and crushing the Dementor by contracting its muscles around it. This mostly gentle giant would make a wonderful Patronus, protecting its owner with its amazing strength. its also important to say that pythons are a very rare and unusual kind of patronus.

mirror of erised

Ophelia has encountered herself with the mirror of erised two times so far. The first was one night at the start of her second course in hogwarts, Ginny Wesley and herself went out looking for the mysterious artifact that ginny’s brother had bragged about all summer, presuming it would show you your hearts most deepest and desperate desire. It took the young ones a couple of nights to actual find it and once they did Ophelia wasn’t surprised by what the mirror showed her.

It was her, standing over a crowd of people that looked admiringly up to her. Ophelia wanted to stand out, to achieve success over anything else. She wanted to be known and leave a mark behind.

This changed through the years though as she grew from a child to a woman. After having quite a chaotic and confusing year on his fourth year, Ophelia decided to go back to the mirror, hoping that it would give her some peace and direction in moments where everything else was a blur. She stood in front the golden mirror as a new truth revealed itself.

Instead of seeing herself being praised by others, Ophelia was standing in the middle of the mirror by herself, looking proud and accomplished, without any giveaways of how she had achieved it. At the distance you could see the slight fade of those she cared for, present for her but her real desire was to find her own place of peace and happiness. To be pleased with what she had, and not try to live up to others expectations, just her own.

amorentia

ophelia leaned down sniffing over the small cauldron, an overwhelming smell filling up her lungs
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀fresh laundry . . .
this is definitely an unusual smell to be emotionally attached to but for ophelia it was also one of the most powerful ones. as a sibling of 7 others, her childhood home would always be in the tightrope between chaos and order. it’s not surprising to say that in the beckett household a new crate of freshly washed clothing was constantly coming out. whether they were the clothes of one of the youngest, who had slipped and covered themselves in mud, or maybe the multiple outfits one of the oldest girls had tried the previous day over and over again while getting ready to go out, or simply the weekly load, this smell was familiar and nostalgic to ophelia.

the smell was soon drown out by a new one, this one filled up the girl on her inside and the immediate joy and, honestly, hunger would immediately replace all that she was feeling before.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ melted chocolate . . .
one of ophelia’s favorite activities as a child was to help her mother bake chocolate chip cookies. this tradition remained through the years and they would still practice it frequently until oph got her hogwarts letter. their “special touch” was to leave the cookies a bit longer than supposed, or like in most cases they simply had forgotten about them, which caused the big chunks of chocolate chips to melt with the dough, giving them a unique flavor, texture and smell.

finally, a last scent arose from the potion,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ . . .

bloodline

ophelia blood status is sort of a complicated topic for her. biologically speaking, ophelia is a halfblood born from the ‘prohibited’ relationships between a pureblood and muggle. when her grandparents found out about the new incoming child, they threatened their mother with making her and the offsprings life miserable unless she got rid of it.

this is how ophelia ended up in the beckett’s front step on the early morning of January 31st. she grew up with a foster family, never questioning her roots and focusing in the present more than the past or future. she’s one of the two beckett siblings that got accepted into hogwarts.

she met her biological mom over the summer in between her third and fourth year, it was an understatement to say that ophelia wasn’t thrilled about this. even after meeting up with her and talking things many times, Ophelia has decided to self identify as a muggleborn as she really considers her foster parents to be her real ones and stays true to how she grew up.

skills

potions: easily ophelia’s best subject. she achieved outstanding and exceeded expectations on her scores for both O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s, even though this second ones she had to take in the beginning of her eight year as the last course got interrupted by the battle of hogwarts.

‘the divine post’: ophelia being the stubborn overachieving witch she is, created her own newspaper on her third year at hogwarts. she first started being editor, writer and her own publisher. the divine post would be a way to spread the word around school, whether it was about the latest gossip or the upcoming owls, the newspaper informs other about what goes on inside the walls of the castle. through the years many other students and staff members have offered their help and now the newspaper is an official club.

charms: ophelia has showed to be skilled when it comes to charms and conjuring. she was able to conjure her patronus in the training sessions of the Dumbledore army and of course pass her o.w.l.s and n.e.w.t.s with above average grades.

transfiguration: another area where ophelia has excelled is her transfiguration class, being one of the few students in her class to be able to graduate with an exceeded expectations on N.E.W.T-level transfiguration and successfully be able to conjure, one of the hardest spells in transfiguration, different things.
